Siratum: Prayer Focus & Lock for iPhone · Effective October 15, 2026
Who we are
Siratum is made by Kozmonos ("we", "us"), the operator responsible for the app and for this policy. Contact for privacy questions and requests: support@kozmonos.com. This policy covers the Siratum app for iPhone and this page.
What Siratum does not collect
- No account, sign-up or password, and no e-mail address, phone number, postal address or contacts.
- No precise location. Your exact coordinates are never sent to us.
- No advertising, no advertising SDKs, no advertising identifier (IDFA) and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- No list of your apps. Screen Time gives Siratum only anonymous tokens for the apps you choose to lock; Siratum cannot see their names or how you use them, and the tokens never leave your device.
- No face, voice or other biometric data.
What Siratum keeps on your device and in your own cloud
- Prayer progress (which prayers you marked and when, streaks, snoozes), your settings, city and calculation method are stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone.
- iCloud sync: on iOS 17 and later, Siratum keeps a copy of your prayer progress in your own iCloud account (Apple's private CloudKit database), encrypted by Apple, so it appears on your other devices and survives a new phone. We cannot read it.
- Google Drive backup: only if you connect it in Settings, Siratum keeps the same copy in a hidden app folder in your Google Drive. Siratum can see only that folder, not your other files, and we cannot read it.
- Prayer reminders are scheduled by the app on your device.
Location
Prayer times depend on where you are. Siratum suggests a city from your phone's time zone. If you tap "Use my location", Siratum asks for approximate location once, rounds it to about a kilometre and uses it on your device to find the nearest city; to name that city your phone asks Apple's map service. You can also search for a city instead. Siratum does not track your location in the background. The city, country and time zone you choose are sent with usage information (see below).
Information we receive
| What | Examples | Service provider | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setup answers | the name you give, your goals, how many prayers you keep, your hardest prayer, what gets in the way, your mood, your intention (niyyah) and dhikr during setup | PostHog | under PostHog's standard retention; see "Keeping and deleting information" |
| App usage events | screens opened, prayers marked (which prayer and whether on time, late or missed), locks started and unlocked, reminders, the chosen city, country and time zone, whether location access was allowed, the Premium screen shown | PostHog | as above |
| Identifiers | a random identifier the app creates when it is first installed, shared by PostHog, Sentry and RevenueCat so we can follow one installation across them; it is not your Apple Account and not an advertising identifier | PostHog, Sentry, RevenueCat | as long as the information it is attached to |
| Crash and error reports | where the code failed, app version, the steps just before, the values involved in the error, how long screens took to load | Sentry | up to 90 days |
| Technical context | device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone, IP address and the approximate location derived from it | PostHog, Sentry | as long as the event or report it is sent with |
| Purchase status | the App Store receipt and whether Siratum Pro is active | RevenueCat | while Siratum Pro is used, and as required for accounting |
Your prayer marks, intentions and dhikr may reveal your religious beliefs. We receive them only to run and improve Siratum, for example to see which prayers are hardest to keep and whether reminders and locks help, and never to advertise to you or to sell them.
Why we use it
We use the information above to provide Siratum (locks, reminders, sync and Pro features), to find and fix crashes and errors, to understand which features help people keep their prayers and where they get stuck, to keep the app secure, and to know whether Pro is active. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not combine it with data from other companies to build profiles about you.
Who receives it
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. The service providers below process it only on our behalf, under their data processing terms:
- PostHog, product analytics (EU hosting): posthog.com/privacy
- Sentry, crash and error reporting: sentry.io/privacy
- RevenueCat, subscription status: revenuecat.com/privacy
- Apple, App Store payments, iCloud sync in your own Apple Account and city names for location: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google, only if you connect Google Drive backup: policies.google.com/privacy
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Purchases
Siratum Pro is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and never shares your payment details or Apple Account with us.
Keeping and deleting information
- On your device: deleting Siratum removes everything it stored on the device.
- iCloud copy: open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, Manage Storage (or Manage Account Storage), Siratum, and delete its data.
- Google Drive copy: in Google Drive on the web, open Settings, Manage apps, Siratum, and choose "Delete hidden app data".
- Crash reports: deleted after at most 90 days.
- Usage information and setup answers: kept only as long as they help us run and improve Siratum, under PostHog's standard retention. We delete them on request (see "Your rights").
- Support e-mails: kept while we help you and deleted within 12 months, sooner on request.
How we protect information
All transfers are encrypted (HTTPS), access to our service accounts is limited to the people who build Siratum, and we review our providers' settings at least once a year. Data on your device and in iCloud is protected by Apple's built-in security, and the Google Drive copy by your Google account.
Your rights (EU, UK and elsewhere)
You can ask to access, correct or delete information about your use of Siratum, object to its processing, or ask us to restrict it, by writing to support@kozmonos.com. To find your records we may ask for your app version and approximate dates of use. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Our providers may process data outside your country (for example in the United States); they use the legal safeguards required for such transfers.
Children
Siratum is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used Siratum and sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
California
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Changes
If we change how Siratum handles information, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect, and describe significant changes in the app's update notes.
